If you are like me, you are always looking for different races to run. These are just some of the races I have come across while always looking for the latest, greatest and coolest thing to do. Who knows one might suit your fancy! For me, I hope to accomplish all of these one day :-)
Lozilu: I absolutely cannot wait to tackle this in a couple of weeks. I am signed up to run the 8 am wave at the Frederick Fairgrounds. What I like about this is that its an all women's race. I like the women only obstacle races because the tone for them is about being healthy and happy. A lot less pressure! With that being said there are some cool obstacles and of course mud. The best part is that a large portion of the proceeds go to supporting find a cure for childhood cancer. Go to www.lozilu.com
The Disney Princess Half Marathon: I am in love with the idea of this race. I am Disney Kid, in fact the most notable feature of my movie collection is my tendency to own every Disney Movie imaginable, especially if it involves a Disney princess! This is on the 2015 bucket list. The pictures of the race are incredible looking because of the women who dress up like the Disney Princesses and run through the Walt Disney Park. In particular, running through Cinderella's castle. This is MY dream! If you are feeling adventurous then you might take the glass slipper challenge and run the Disney Enchanted 10k the day before the half marathon. Why leave Disney with 1 medal when you can have 2?
The Color Run: This run has become my latest obsession and I am super excited to travel to Richmond, VA in order to be able to run this with my friends. I love uber happy events! Only requirement is that you must wear white! Go to: thecolorun.com/about
The Divas Half Marathon Series: By far one of the most awesome looking races. I love any all women's race because it seems a little bit more low key. But what more could a woman want boas, tiaras, champagne, roses, and oh did I mention the firemen? Yup New York's finest...that'll get me to the finish line!
Movie Madness Half Marathon Series: An interesting take on the half marathon. Every mile marker is a different themed movie stop. Prizes for dressing up like your favorite movie characters. Looks like a lot of fun! http://usroadrunning.com/index.php?club_id=727
Bird In Hand Half Marathon: This is a half marathon that I am dead set to do. If you love running in area with lots of rural scenery and charm then this is a race for you. This race tours through the Amish Countryside in Lancaster, PA (Bird In Hand) with many one room school houses as the rest stop. There is also a 5k with this race the night before, and if you dare you can take the Fire Company Challenge and run both the 5k and Half Marathon.
